DIY customizable headband because you reserve the right to change your mind
My 4 year old fashionista knows how to accessorize like nobody's business. It doesn't matter if it's jeans and a t-shirt or a fancy dress she always makes sure to place a sparkly little something around her wrist, neck and head. And she's really good at it.
That's why I love this idea for making a changeable headband from Michelle of Mic L. in LA. With some string, a few found objects and a plain headband she's crafted up a hair accessory with all sorts of interchangeable pieces to compliment any look. In the tutorial she demonstrates how to make accessories with both hard backing and felt backing. Michelle shares a few ideas of what can be used for decorative pieces from plastic bugs to silk flowers to vintage brooches (my personal favorite). I can't wait to treasure hunt through the house with my little girl searching for gems to transform into awesome headband accessories...The possibilities are endless....Cheap, easy, eco-friendly and uber-stylish.
These are so popular right now. I've seen them in stores with big price tags and all kinds of embellishments: huge flowers, feathers, weird 'fascinator'- type creations. You could make dozens of these and slip them on and off one headband to match any look.
