Easter eggs...Another reason to see "Up" as if you needed one
It was an afternoon made in movie-going heaven for me last Sunday at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. My 3 year old daughter cozied up in my lap...a bucket of popcorn nestled in hers...her best friend strategically situated between us and her mommy constantly peeping sideways at my daughter to catch her eye and share a giddy giggle or two...and me, heart-skipping beats...sobbing in silence behind my 3D glasses. The culprit of my dreamy theater experience being Pixar's newest film "Up". I'm constantly amazed by this gifted crew of creators and their ability to spin tales with themes of great value often overlooked told through the eyes of the most unlikely heroes. "Up" is a testament to this in every way.
And as if I needed another reason to see this movie 2..3..4 more times then the list of hidden Easter eggs put together by Slash Film is a good one.
According to Peter Scrietta of Slash Film, "Pixar loves to hide Easter eggs in their films, little references to movies and characters from the animation studio’s past and future. Last year we put together a compilation of WALL-E easter eggs, so I thought we’d do the same thing for Pixar’s new film Up. If you haven’t seen the film, be warned that this article references scenes from the film which may be considered spoilers."
Did someone say matinee?
