An easy yet meaningful way to get the kids involved in the spirit of giving

Tis the season for giving and giving thanks. And as we watch our children make their way through mountains of presents it's important for them to understand that along with the getting it's nice to be giving. An easy way to accomplish this is by checking out what a group of Army Corps Engineers in Iraq are doing. They're asking for people to send gently used stuffed toys to the children of Iraq for them to distribute to some very grateful children. Simply set aside a small amount of time with your children and start tunneling and sorting then ship those babies off to their new home. Not only will it make some extra room in your child's already toy packed space it'll also teach your mini-philanthropist a little something about the importance of giving. Plus, you'll be surprised by how charitable your little ones will be knowing their soft friends are going to children who could really benefit from receiving something special they can hold tight to for some serious playtime cuddling and imaginative play. You'll feel all gooey inside knowing you've moved them that much closer to understanding the magic and joy of giving while teaching them some global responsibility with the extra added bonus of seeing their bedroom floor for the first time in a year.
