A few cupcakes that give the pumpkin pie some stiff competition

Yet again Family Fun doesn't let us down. Not that there will major cupcake consumption with the ol' pumpkin pie on the Thanksgiving table ready to be sliced up and topped with some whip cream but there's some pretty over-the-top Thanksgiving themed cupcake action happening on the Family Fun site worth checking out. It boggles the mind what these folks can do with some decorating frosting, a cookie and some candy.

My favorite Thanksgiving cupcake recipe has to be their Tiny Turkey Dinner cupcake. Seriously, looking at the darn cake you'd think it's way too much work but this simple recipe is complete with teeny-tiny slices of "turkey" (thin slices of a Brach's Maple Nut Goodies candy) topped with "gravy" (melted chocolate chips). I'm also rather fond of the way-too-cute Sweet T.O.M. Turkey cake which will help you get rid of any left-over Halloween candy corns. And finally, noteworthy, a cake-cake that's just too clever to pass up. If you think it's cute to make sweet stuff look like main dishes then you'll freak for their Turkey of a Cake recipe. Ok, is that not the wackiest cake ever? Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, be with our families and friends and stuff our faces with some good grub. Fun Turkey Day cupcakes should earn a spot on the table among the spread. Like we need a good excuse for a good cupcake.
