Ghoulish shadow theater = tons of Halloween fun
We have some serious shadow puppet love. The puppets and theaters are a cinch (and cheap) to make from ordinary household materials. And they offer oodles of imaginary play opportunities and pumping of creative juices.
With that said, here's an awesome shadow puppet theater idea from Kate of Mini eco which is just in time for some Halloween fun. Setting the stage for serious puppetry, her shadow theater is crafted from a recycled cereal box and a piece of vellum or tracing paper. She's also included a link to her Halloween inspired shadow makers tutorial and pdf which includes an owl, ghost, skeleton, bat and more.
Kate:
Whilst my shadow makers are perfect for younger children this cereal box shadow theater makes a great project for an older child.
It’s really simple to make, and can be made from household scraps, so why not flick the telly off this Halloween and get the kids to entertain for a bit!
