How to make recycled paper to use with your awesome recycled crayons
I always seem to get these insane ideas in my head. Insane because they seem like a good idea but require time I just don't have. The recycled crayon project I just completed with my kids went so smoothly that I'm convinced my team of mini-craftsters and I can handle making some homemade recycled paper and turn them into sweet little drawing pads to compliment the homemade crayons my kids want to pass out to their friends.
Doing some preliminary research on how to make recycled paper has led me to a few favorites that I plan to draw information from to accomplish our task. I really find B Zendan's Flickr tutorial for making paper to be extremely thorough and full of helpful tips. The photo set is comprehensive with tons of delicious step-by-step instructions and clear directions. However, my favorite tutorial is this one from Kids Gardening. I love the way this version makes recycling paper seem so easy. I think the photos of the kids completing the project have convinced me most of all. I also appreciate the options they've included on how to transform gray blah-ish recycled paper into beautiful, interesting pieces. Wish me luck but what I really need is some borrowed time.
