Imaginative play needs the perfect Superhero cape.

I've actually made three capes using Puking Pastilles's excellent Superhero Cape tutorial. The tutorial offers crystal clear instructions and pictures for you to follow! As a beginner, beginner sewer I really found her tutorial a snap to follow. I even dared to change the collar into a rectangle piece and made the bottom of the cape less rounded and the capes still turned out pretty good--woo-hoo! I also made the capes reversible making them an easy accessory for any clothing ensemble. I did find the appliques too challenging--remember I have basic to no skill---so I changed them into a large circle with my kids' first initial right in the middle which I thought really personalized the capes and added certain super power qualities. They turned out really cute. This was a fun and quick project that's easily modified and with it's magical super powers it's a must for any pint sized Superhero engaging in hours of "self-regulating" imaginative play.
