Independence Day is upon us and the Cupcake Gods (AKA Family Fun) have spoken giving us "Lady Liberty Cupcakes"
Forget the kids, I want to make these tiny tasty freedom cakes for myself and play Lady Liberty all day Friday. I can totally see myself prancing around the BBQ proudly holding my torch cake high loudly spouting off verse after verse of "The Star Spangled Banner" (note: if you were planning on inviting my family over this Friday for a swell pre-fireworks show BBQ and are now reading this rethinking the offer please don't invite us until the very last minute preventing me from baking up a batch of these ADORABLE and super awesomely fun cupcakes AND by all means don't serve me any of your delicious blueberry-coladas). Sorry, I think it's just the lifelong dream I've had of dressing up as madam liberty and shouting "I stand for truth, justice and the American way"...some strange statue fetish I have, I think. But seriously..don't these "Lady Liberty Cakes from Family Fun totally rock?
And wait till you see how they make sugar look like an All-American BBQ transforming a few yellow and white jellybeans, yellow Starburst and cake into the most impressive "Corn on the Cobcakes" and some vanilla wafer cookies, circus peanuts, caramel squares, gumdrops and sesame seeds among other things and creating sweet little "Dogs and Burgers Cupcakes". Is there any theme too challenging for these masters of the hand-held cake?
