"Magpie Time" is ready to show kids how being green + being imaginative = crafty goodness
MagPie Time is a new show "dedicated to teaching arts and crafts to children in an accessible and entertaining manner by re-using found everyday objects in creative ways." And whose main character "Magpie" is played by none other than the most excellent Maggie Wheeler or "Janice" from Friends minus the annoying laugh but with new rapping action. You can catch a sneak peek of the show by checking out their offical sizzle reel on Vimeo. And from what I can gather from the reel the show has a fresh "Yo Gabba Gabba!" feel yet screams of "Pee Wee's Playhouse" all while being super creative with their special brand of "hands-on Do it Yourselfiness" making it something entirely unique and crazy-cool. I cannot wait to make some of the repurposed projects like the owl made of recycled coffee cup stuff from mommy and daddy's Saturday morning Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf fix, the rockin' cereal box turntable and HUGE paper cup ball. Complete with Glunicorn and Kitty Glitter, both of which I really wanna make, they'll prove that "going green has never been so crafty...socially responsible, ecologically correct and good for children." I cannot wait to watch it with the kids...the darn show has "Glunicorn." I'm so in.
