Memorial Day and BBQs...spicy turkey burgers for adults and sliders for kids?

Planning a bbq sometime over the upcoming three day weekend?-Done with beef but still on the fence over turkey burgers?-Try this awesome Curried Turkey and Green Apple Burger with Chipotle Mayo recipe for something unique! I first found this recipe in a Shape Magazine sometime in 2003. After I recycled the magazine and it was on it's way to turn into something fabulous I realized I had lost the recipe for the BEST turkey burgers EVER! Thanks to the magic of the "WWW" I was able to find the recipe on Shape.com which I printed, laminated and placed in my "special recipes" binder. Now, unfortunately, I wasn't able to locate the recipe on Shape's site to share with you! I was hoping it would still be in their archives along with a juicy picture I intended to use to convince you that even though it's in a health magazine and maybe you plan on partying down this weekend and don't want to be concerned with what you shovel in your mouth between margaritas that these burgers are totally worth the....um...un-splurge. So, you'll just have to picture it in your mind as you read the tantalizing recipe and just take my word for it. This is my husband's and my all-time favorite turkey burger recipe. It's tangy, spicy, tart, crunchy, sweet, and way simple! Thanks to BNET's site I was able to track down the recipe (see below). A side note, even though the recipe calls for you to cook it in a pan they can TOTALLY be grilled. They stay together really nice. Grilling is the only way we prepare them. Trust me and just fire up the ol' grill. Now I'm not a fool. Having an 8 year old that won't even watch us whip up these burgers and a tot with a very persnickety palette I know most kids aren't going to dig this recipe. That's where Martha Stewart's simple Mini Turkey Burgers recipe saves the day. Check out the nifty tips she adds to the recipe to get the kids involved. Sliders for the minis! Get ready to enjoy the long weekend, kick-back and sip on a few Beer Margaritas.
