Need a fast yet fun midweek meal? Try these painted butterflies
Back to school means back to hectic evenings jammed with homework to finish, lunches to pack, forms to fill out and...if you're lucky...a stale slice of weekend pizza gobbled down on your way to pick up junior from soccer practice. No time to long for the days of summers past. It's full-speed ahead. But what are you going to feed your kids when the take-out is gone along with your evening and patience?
Mandy of Gourmet Mom on the Go has a quick idea that will get dinner on the table with a little help from your kids. Oh..and it's super-fun. Check out her painted butterfly recipe which she claims to be an excellent conversation tool for getting the day's scoop out of your kid. Yeah, I realize that hotdogs, refrigerator biscuits and pretzels aren't the most healthy of meals but when it's 7 o'clock and you have two kids convinced they are truly starving to death just serve them up with a side of steamed broccoli and a salads and you're good to go.
