OLPC's Give One, Get One Program returns with some Amazon guns

It's a new school year, your kids need that laptop for homework, why not get them an XO? Sleek, modern, awesome and starting in November a practice in philanthropy when Amazon, in collaboration with One Laptop Per Child OLPC, an organization whose mission it is to "empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child" brings back their Give One, Get One Program selling the laptop on Amazon.

"This year, OLPC opted to team up with a Web e-tailer instead of running the program itself, said Matt Keller, director of Europe, Middle East and Africa at OLPC, in an interview Wednesday.

Amazon.com will start selling XO laptops under the Give One, Get One program in late November, around the time of Thanksgiving in the U.S. Sales will likely extend through to around the end of December."

"We're a small group of people," said Keller, explaining the rationale for working with Amazon.com."

Extra karma and actually not having to wait in line to use the family computer, OLPC's XO just might be the option for your household.
