Recycle bubble wrap into a hopping/popping hopscotch game
Now that we're seeing sunnier days around here my kids (10 and 4 years old) have been in love with learning the outdoor games I played when I was their age. They're gobbling up all my childhood stories and the rules of play and get major satisfaction from beating mommy's butt at her own game...Luckily for them it's been decades since I've played Chinese Jumprope and Hopscotch because otherwise it would been on... And nobody likes to see kids crying (or me gloating)...In your face kids, IN...YOUR...FACE!
This tutorial from Amberlee of Giver's Log for making bubble wrap hopscotch takes the game to a whole new level of cool. Crafted and sent to her from from her brother and SIL as a gift for her daughter it's included as part of a series of posts on items that weigh 13 ounces or less and can be sent in the US inexpensively at a first class postage rate. I really love this twist on the classic hopscotch game made from recycled bubble wrap. I can't wait to receive some goodies from the UPS so I can rip out the wrap and whip up a set for my kids. I think it would be a riot jumping on the wrap setting off a chain of pops and crackles. Plus it's portable, recycled, cheap and quick and easy to make and set up...Get hopping!
