Repurpose cereal boxes into classy storage bins
My family polishes off boxes of cereal like the larval caterpillars munching through my beautiful tomato plants. And because of our cereal addiction we have an overabundant supply of delicious cardboard. I'm always on the lookout for ways to repurpose it. However, as a person whose cancelled all her magazine and catalog subscriptions in order to live a "greener" lifes there's only so many cereal box magazine holders I actually need.
That's why I'm jazzed about this tutorial for making cereal box storage bins posted on Urban Nest. The DIY contains specific directions and photos to help you repurpose a cereal box into a nice size bin perfect for tossing pocket junk and keys.
I'm planning on crafting up a few for my kids who love to read books in bed but hate to put them away. This way they can place their bins next to their bed and toss in a few favorites for easy access and clean-up. I'm even planning on using some of my husband's old dress shirts for the fabric lining. This project is a fabulous way to recycle and it'll save you a trip to the Container Store as well as quite a few pretty pennies.
