'Spore' creator ready for game's debut; no need to fear giant walking phalluses

For a game that's being targeted at a family audience (the ESRB rates it "Everyone 10+" suitable for kids ages 10 and up) there has been an awful lot of naughty content ("sporn") created using the game's pre-released creature creation tools. Will Wright, Spore's creator, is not phased by these explicit monsters that some folks already have created. But the game's publisher, EA, is planning on banning users who create such content. Will Wright's evolution game "Spore" is due out Sept. 7 for Windows PC and Mac. The game allows players to go from singled-cell organism to full-fledged civilization. Wright created "The Sims," which became the best-selling PC game of all time. Should be a hoot.
