Toilet paper roll crowns to rule the kingdom w/pizzazz

I'm smitten with easy kids' crafts...Ones that use recycled materials and or common household items, take little prep and are fun, fun, fun.

My extensive explorations around the web have led me to the conclusion that many of the crafts fulfilling these requirements use empty toilet paper rolls. (I sense an OH Guide in the future on the topic).

Hence, Lilla A has shared this project for making sweet crowns that fits my kiddie craft bill and (surprise, surprise) they're made out of empty toilet paper rolls. I tried the crowns out with my mini royalty and they were a hit. The prep for this project, including the disgusting task of rummaging through my bathroom trashcan (No worries, I washed my hands after hunting and luckily most were right on the top layer), cutting the crowns and the taking out of paint, glitter and stickers, took a mere 10 minutes. The painting kept my little one busy for 20 whole minutes, the pizzazz-ing an extra 15...No I didn't stutter! She made sure everyone in our royal kingdom, including the dog, a few stuffed friends and even her 11 year old brother (much to his distaste but he's a team player so he accepted and wore his with as much delight as a tween can muster up) had a crown of their own. And as we tend to be a 3 roll a week kinda family I'm sure by the end of this week a few more subjects will don one of her special creations.

Don't get caught on the royal throne without one!
