Upcycle those Valentine's Day cards your kids get into cute bunting
I never know what to do with all the Valentine's Day cards my kids, 3 and 10 years old, bring home from school each year. I don't have the heart to toss them out a few days after the holiday...A week later I'm cursing at damn cards which are now scattered all over the house. And I usually don't have the patience to do anything special with them. The most we've ever done has been to repurpose the cards into place mats. I just feel there should be more to do with the cards.
Janna of Mustard Seeds has come up with a genius idea to extend the love. Check out her Valentine card bunting tutorial.
This would also be a fun way to collect and display valentines that you receive from friend and loved ones. You could create a strand of valentines each year (post Valentine's Day) and then hang them in your children's rooms.
I love her suggestion for adding on each year. I think it would be fun to see how the taste in cards change as your child grows. A cute bunting that doubles as a Valentine's Day decoration and an act of eco-consciousness.
