Pillow Theater presents "The Tale of Jemima Puddle Duck" Sat., Feb. 28

The Music Center in Los Angeles has a pretty fabulous educational programs they offer to families throughout the year. One of the series they offer through this program is Pillow Theater. Geared for families with children ages 3 to 6 the free series is offered on various Saturdays throughout the year and "features world-class artists in 30-minute interactive performances with a free visual arts workshop each performance." Children are encouraged to plop their tushies on one of the bright, comfy pillows provided by the theater or bring their favorite from home so they can truly kickback and enjoy the show; hence the name Pillow Theater.

This Saturday, February 28th Pillow Theater is back with "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-duck" told by Hudson Vagabond Puppets. "The Hudson Vagabond Puppets create larger-than-life puppetry presentations that entertain children and their families alike. Borrowing from the traditional Japanese Bunraku style of puppetry, puppeteers become mere shadows of the enormous figures they bring to life. In The Tale of Jemima Puddle-duck, giant puppets dance and act in narrated ballets to this beloved Beatrix Potter story about an absent-minded duck and her egg-laying adventures. Featuring music by William Walton."

Before gathering up all the baby chicks and making your way down to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind in order to see the show. Show times are 10am and 11am and require a free ticket which "are distributed on the morning of the performance on a first-come basis. No advanced reservations are accepted. Tickets are distributed in front of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion beginning one hour prior to each performance; 9:00 AM for the first performance, and again at 10:00 AM for the second performance." Don't forget to check out the workshops offered outside on the Music Center Plaza which corresponds with the performance.
