Spring festival w/Cal. Contemporary Ballet @ Descanso Gardens Sat.

There's not much that matches the beauty of springtime at Descanso Gardens. The brilliant colors of new life blossoming all around you makes it hard to believe, when you visit the gardens, that you are minutes away from urban-life.

And this Saturday is no exception. Join the gardens this Saturday, April 4th, for their Power of Flowers spring festival.

"The festival celebrates the importance, influence and splendor of one of nature’s most crowning achievements: the flower. From Center Circle and Promenade displays, the petaled-wonder will be fêted with exhibits, workshops, concerts and walks

California Contemporary Ballet will present their contemporary work entitled "Blue Passion Flower" choreographed by Erin Holt with original music composed by Mark Mercury. The concert will also feature classical variations from the famous ballet of "Napoli", accompanied by the "Flower Festival Pas de deux"."

Admission to the gardens is $8 per person, senior/students $6, children (5 to 12 years) $3 and children under 5 free. The festival and performance are included in the price of admission. Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch to munch on in their picnic area before entering the gardens, check out the bird Observation Station and extra money for a ride on the Enchanted Railroad and make a wish and smile when you cross the arched bridge in the Japanese Garden. A wonderful way to spend a family day taking in the enchantment of spring.
