DIY geode Easter eggs because science + crafts = AWESOME

In my home the closer we get to Easter, the more egg-crazy we seem to be getting. And now that my kids are 4 and 10 years old it's not enough to just pullout the Paas and color some eggs. We need to move things to the next level and since they're learning about all sorts of cool scientific-y stuff at school why not bring in a little science into the (egg) mix?
