Homemade aqua scopes = awesome outdoor fun

The end of the school year is approaching at a rapid pace with no emergency brake to slow things down. Meaning now is the time to find cool ideas to tuck into your bag of tricks....Activities requiring minimal materials, set-up and brain power, ready to be pulled out right before the first whimper of the words "I'm bored" trickles out of your kid's (or your) mouth.

Enter Maya*Made's awesome idea for making an aqua scope. I love this activity which gets the kids outdoors and requires basic household materials (3 of which you probably already have in your recycle bin). Granted you will need access to a body of water. I'm thinking even if you're not close to any fresh or salt water habitats your kids could still have a blast with their homemade aqua scopes in the ol' plastic pool or even the bathtub...Did someone say Red October? What's not to love about a trick that's cheap, resourceful, hands-on, scientific and fun, fun, fun?
