I believe I've stumbled upon a project guaranteed to make my 12 y.o. Lego maniac's holiday season and keep him uber-busy (which also makes my holiday season). Check out this Lego Holiday Build-It-Yourself from author/illustrator/photographer Chris McVeigh. His annual list is compiled of 8 DIY Lego ornaments and decorations from traditional Christmasy goodies (the gingerbread house is super sweet) to the Death Star (OMG, Star Wars!). Each project includes a model file, instruction guide and part list.

Coated flexible wire, a few scraps of cotton (she uses muslin) and awesome bending skills are all you need to spruce up those nooks and crannies with some serious Halloween cuteness..um, eh "scariness."

I know, I know, I KNOW I just posted something about one of the projects featured on From Glitter to Gumdrops. And while I'm not in the habit of doing this I just couldn't pass up the chance to pass on this clever tutorial for personalized tortillas.

I love, love, love this idea so much and think it would be super-easy to make with the kids! I love how Christy uses recycled jars and tools she has on hand to craft the scrub, proving that it is indeed a truly accessible/thrifty project.
