The California African American Museum (CAAM) in Los Angeles is offering a special series of free workshops honoring Black History Month. For the next two Saturdays families can come to the museum and participate in themed activities designed to educate the community about African American heritage.

The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is holding a African Cultural Festival marking the start of Black History Month. As part of their Target Free First Sunday series this free family event will run from 10am to 4pm. Families will "Celebrate the richness of the African and African American cultures with powerful drum beats, dancers, gospel songs, and an art show, featuring local Black artists.
