Put a note in your kid's lunch--give a lunch to a starving kid
Submitted by wendy on September 11, 2009 - 5:49am.If given the choice my son would eat Lunchable for ever meal. Although I'm not a fan of sending my son off to school with one of these yellow box o'processed edibles Kraft is attempting to improve the nutritional quality of their Lunchables and they are also doing something pretty great right now...that's worth a few kudos.

Submitted by wendy on August 14, 2009 - 3:35pm.Build/Make/Craft/Bake recently posted an interview with 7-year old Holden Lee...a kid breathing new breath into the ol' lemonade stand idea. Obama wants you to make MLK Day more than a day off from school
Submitted by wendy on January 14, 2009 - 5:05pm.I'm completely enamored with the Obamas and basically they could say "cut off your toe" and I'd say "which one?" So, it's no surprise that I'm pretty psyched with President-elect Obama's Call to Service event happening on Monday, January 19th in honor of the Martin Luther King holiday.
Don't let CPSIA kill handmade toys in the USA
Submitted by wendy on January 8, 2009 - 9:46am.I'm so annoyed by this whole Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) put together by our Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) which is set to go into effect early this year. Admittedly I have a small handmade obsession stemming from my stumbling upon ETSY. I love handmade goodies.

An easy yet meaningful way to get the kids involved in the spirit of giving
Submitted by wendy on November 25, 2008 - 2:08pm.Tis the season for giving and giving thanks. And as we watch our children make their way through mountains of presents it's important for them to understand that along with the getting it's nice to be giving. An easy way to accomplish this is by checking out what a group of Army Corps Engineers in Iraq are doing. They're asking for people to send gently used stuffed toys to the children of Iraq for them to distribute to some very grateful children.
