After being chewed on and read through over the past 10 years by our two voracious readers our worn out copy of Margaret Wise Brown's Good Night Moon has earned it's rightful place on our bookshelf.

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday and NEA's National Read Across America Day One Pretty thing has put together a roundup of Seuss related projects. It's a nice mix of how-to's, printables and recipes. Most ideas are easy and require very basic materials, most of which you probably already have on hand.

J Otto Seibold's Olive, My Love contains all the best things about the holiday... Love, hearts, friendship, adventure, chocolates and dogs. Such a fun Valentine's Day book we had to mention it twice!

A Picture Book of Martin Luther King, Jr. continues to be one of my favorite books about the great civil rights hero and I love reading it to my kids each January.

We seem to be giving a nice amount of books as holiday gifts this year. And although a book is a treasure in itself I thought it would be kinda fun to tuck a little extra something in between the pages of the books. That's when I came across this photo bookmark tutorial from Craft contributor Christine Koh.

I really do love children's holiday books. We fill our humble living space with decorations and a full basket of themed books we've collected over the years. At this point we have such a nice collection of books for each holiday that we are, perhaps, even slightly more excited about the books than the decorations.

Sometimes it can be really hard to keep kosher for Passover with so many temptations surrounding you. And nobody knows it better than Aaron, a Jewish boy and main character of Mindy Avra Portnoy's children's book Matzah Ball: A Passover Story.

The Jewish festival Pesach (Passover) begins this Wednesday which means it's Seder time folks! A Seder is a very special meal which is accompanied by the reading of the Haggadah, the story of Passover. And, as those of you who celebrate Passover or have been to a family Seder know, these meals last hours meaning very squirmy kids. Of course kids play a huge role in the success of a Seder, but one worries if all the symbolism and customs are lost on the littlest participants?

"From Caterpillar to Butterfly" is not a new book. However, it's use of detailed pictures and simple, yet meaningful text makes it timeless. Part of the well-thought-out "Let's Read and Find Out Science" series, this is a book I read each year to my class as part of our life science unit.

Created by Marion Bataille, a French graphic designer, ABC3D is a clever alphabet book that mesmerizes it's readers from the lenticular cover to the pop-up letter "Z." Part art, part optical illusion Bataille moves and transforms the letters of the alphabet with bold black, white and red colors, 3D pop-ups and pull-outs and translucent overlays.
